Just a quick note for those who don't follow the ROOL forums, that there's a
new test build of WinEd out.
Following some discussions at the South West Show, I've had a look at where
I was at with the development of r155, and made a couple more changes:
* The sanity checks on the reserved fields in file headers have been
reduced, so that invalid files from older third-party editors can be
loaded with user agreement.
* The filetypes of possible application sprite files (those found by
proximity to the templates file) are now checked before loading them,
to avoid bad sprite file errors.
Copies can be found at https://www.stevefryatt.org.uk/risc-os/wined and
links in the application now point here as well.
The naming of the test build has changed to using its Git commit hash
instead of an SVN revision code, which should be a clue that I've also got
around to moving the source from SVN to Git: WinEd now lives in the
RISCOS.info project at https://github.com/riscos-dot-info/wined. The
converted repo has actually been sat on my own machine for the past three
years, since I converted all of my own SVN repositories, and the failure to
get it pushed anywhere public has been one of the things stopping me from
progressing development further.
There are potentially a couple more bugs to investigate before producing a
new stable release, although I'm weighing up the likelihood of that actually
happening soon against the benefits of just getting 3.27 (or whatever)
out...
